Because we care about the dental health of you and your family, we focus our attention on two things: prevention and education. If you take care of the prevention portion by coming to our office twice each year for examinations and cleanings, we’ll take care of the education portion.
With regular dentist appointments, we can identify problems while they are still small. After all, in the dental industry, the smaller the problem, the simpler the treatment!
Call Fall Creek Dental and let us help you take care of your oral health for a lifetime!
We know schedules are busy. But making regular six-month checkups a priority allows us the opportunity to catch any potential issues when they are small so that they can be resolved before they escalate into larger, more costly issues.
During your examination, Dr. Tony Pilgrim will not only check your teeth for any signs of cavities or decay, but will also thoroughly check the hard and soft tissues of your mouth and screen for oral cancer.
This examination also gives us the chance to look for the signs of periodontal disease. A very large part of the adult population suffers from gum disease, which can range from mild gingivitis to more severe periodontitis. Periodontal disease not only affects the gums, but it can also impact the bone that supports the teeth.
Left untreated, gum disease can cause that bone to deteriorate, ultimately leading to tooth loss. Since it often presents with no symptoms, only your dentist can detect it early enough for intervention and treatment.
Even the most diligent home care cannot take the place of professional dental cleanings. Plaque hides in the nooks and crannies of your mouth where a toothbrush—or even dental floss—cannot reach. This plaque will eventually harden into tartar if it is not removed, putting you at risk of developing cavities or gum disease. Only professional dental tools can remove tartar buildup.
Our skilled and talented dental hygienists will carefully examine your teeth and thoroughly clear away any traces of plaque and tartar. Then they will polish your teeth, removing surface stains and making your teeth feel smooth and your mouth feel fresh.
We recommend bringing your children in as soon as their first tooth erupts, usually between the ages of 12 and 18 months.
Our office is designed to be kid-friendly to make sure your children are comfortable. We are firm believers that a “spin” in the dental chair at an early age promotes a positive attitude about going to the dentist. Kids who go to the dentist regularly while growing up tend to become adults who continue the practice.
